Interview with Oisin Walton on PRI
In September, Haiti was hit by 4 consecutive hurricanes.  In the city of Gonaïves, in the north of the country, at least 250,000 people needed immediate assistance. Gonaïves soon became the main humanitarian hub for aid agencies (both UN and NGOs).
Télécoms Sans Frontières deployed a team from the beginning of the disaster to set up broadband satellite connections and a telecom centre to the benefit of humanitarian workers. The TSF teams then conducted humanitarian calling operations for affected populations.
Oisin Walton, TSF Communication coordinator at the time, presents the actions of TSF in Haiti in the radio program PRI's The World, created by Public Radio International (PRI).
