TSF Regional Offices

TSF Regional Office in Mexico

TSF has been present in Latin America and the Caribbean since October 2003, when it opened its first regional office in Managua, Nicaragua, with the aim of bridging the digital divide and responding quickly to crises and emergencies in the region. Since its creation, TSF LA&C has carried out 50 missions in 21 countries, becoming a recognized regional humanitarian actor.

TSF LA&C has also implemented connectivity, information access, and digital inclusion projects, such as community Internet centers in Nicaragua, digital tools for food distribution in Guatemala, and information screens for migrants and refugees in Mexico and Colombia. In 2016, TSF LA&C moved its regional office to Guadalajara, Mexico. TSF LA&C has collaborated with several humanitarian organizations in the region, both for relief efforts and for long-term impact, providing ICT capabilities to improve humanitarian response.

Protection Marine Protection and Assistance to Displaced People

For seven years, TSF has been providing access to information via information screens in migrant shelters in Mexico, Guatemala, and Colombia, in order to support and guide displaced populations.

Immediate Marine Immediate emergency response to crises

The regional office has telecommunications response capabilities based on dedicated equipment and trained team members.

Strengthening emergency response capabilities

Since 2021, TSF has conducted capacity-building training for the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) to strengthen its emergency telecommunications response capabilities and has provided the necessary equipment to facilitate a rapid and effective response to crises.

Support to regional humanitarian stakeholders

The TSF regional office is integrated into regional humanitarian working groups such as REDLAC and the LACRMD coalition; and has established partnerships with regional stakeholders such as the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and CDEMA, enabling synergies to be identified and joint projects to be initiated in order to respond effectively to the needs of people in vulnerable situations.

Friends of TSF

Friends of Telecom Without Borders Inc. is a US-based non-profit organization (501(c)(3) status). It was founded and is currently chaired by Paul Margie. Its mission is to support the international organization Telecom Without Borders (TSF) in its humanitarian and emergency telecommunications operations around the world.

Friends of Telecom Without Borders raises funds, mobilizes partners, and raises awareness of TSF's activities in order to amplify the impact of emergency humanitarian communications operations.
Donations to the US association are tax deductible in the United States. For this reason, TSF considers Friends of TSF to be a full partner.

It also facilitates the participation of US companies, foundations, and donors in TSF's mission, strengthening partnerships and response capacity.

TSF Charity Fund en Ukraine

In connection with its activities in Ukraine since 2022, TSF has created the TSF Charity Fund, an association under Ukrainian law that allows TSF to operate locally in Ukraine.
