Internet Safety
Access to connectivity and information is essential in all phases of the response to a humanitarian crisis. However, the digital divide exacerbates vulnerabilities to online risks: misinformation, cybermaliciousness, and misuse of personal data. This divide also hinders access to basic services, essential information, and employment and training opportunities. In our digital world, digital literacy education is becoming a priority for everyone, especially women, children, and older adults, who are increasingly exposed to risks.
Raising awareness on digital tools
As an NGO specializing in humanitarian technology, TSF has a responsibility to raise awareness among populations, train them, and help them defend their rights, protect their identity, and guard against the dangers of the digital world. This role is part of the emergency response as digital first aid, and in the recovery phase to strengthen access to opportunities.
Imagine new approaches
Given the rapid evolution of emerging technologies, this challenge requires monitoring and a responsive approach. This program, currently under development, includes solutions focused on secure access and configuration of mobile devices, and the design of workshops or training kits on tools, various opportunities, and risks, tailored to the target populations to be included but also intended for actors in the field. Activities will evolve according to the needs identified in crisis situations.
