High-level service network equipment optimised for humanitarian emergency interventions.

The Oxbird solution has the ability to handle bandwidth optimisation above 150 Mbps, which has been impossible to date with existing technologies. This solution integrates the latest technological advances in terms of Quality of Service (QoS) on the most recent satellite networks.

TSF is currently working with its partner Inmarsat, the global leader in Mobile Satellite Services (MSS), to implement an innovative QoS solution in their network to the benefit of all customers, including a number of humanitarian organisations. The solution makes it possible to format the network traffic in order to benefit from the new capacities brought by QoS. Other services, such as Voice over IP (VoIP), benefit from these features. In addition, content filtering and application filtering improve the efficiency of satellite bandwidth.

This solution addresses the very specific needs of Internet use during humanitarian emergencies. It must adapt to the constraints of these situations, in particular to the unpredictable nature of emergencies, which can range from a few weeks to a several months, until the availability of more conventional connections or until the end of the first emergency phase.
